In Chinese mythology, Pangu is the first man to ever live and creator of all. At first the universe was nothing, but then formed into a cosmic egg, after about 18,000 years Pangu popped out. A Look Into Mythology: Yomi
Yomi is a place in Japan's Shinto religion where the dead go to dwell and rot for all time. It's very comparable to the underworld of many faiths. It is guarded and ruled by the Goddess Izanami no Mikoto. One of the few versions of a dark underworld run by a female deity.
