Things I Like: MegaMan X3

Like the 2nd game, my memory is a bit hazy with this one, but I thought it was a decent adventure. Though I admit the same old game-play was getting a bit too tiring. Though you could play as Zero this time around. Pretty sweet.

Things I Like: MegaMan X2

I had recently played it more on the Megaman X Collection on Gamecube than as a kid on SNES. If I ever had the chance to play it back then. I don't remember too much about the game besides it being the first sequel in the X series. But I knew I had a decent time with the game. A bit too similar to it's predecessor and sadly not as good. Still a lot better than some of the games that followed it.

A Look Into Video Games: StarFox 2

StarFox was a big hit on the SNES, so did you ever wonder why they never made a sequel until the N64? Well they actually did, and they even finished it. But Nintendo wanted a gap between 2D SNES games and 3D N64 games even though they had almost 2 years to work with. The game seemed to be a step up from the first game. Better graphics, more characters and probably more planets to fly through.

A Look Into Video Games: Mario & Wario

Mario is such a popular series, that we usually get every single game that ever came out with our favorite plumbers. Back in the day we did miss a few however. One of them was Mario & Wario which debuted on the Super Famicom which was the Japanese version of the Super Nintendo. I guess one of the reasons why we never got the game was because it was controlled by the SNES's mouse. It was a point

A Look Into Video Games: Earthbound 64 (Mother 3 Beta)

Earthbound was a fan-favorite hit from the SNES. So fans were hoping for a sequel on Nintendo's next system, the N64.Fans were teased with an early view of Earthbound 64. It apparently had very good graphics back in the day and looked pretty promising. Granted I guess it was somewhat okay they let the game go since the graphics look like junk now. Earthbound did a get a Japan-only sequel called

Shaq Fu (SNES) Review

Oh man what bad ideas game developers had in the 90's. If movie games weren't bad enough, they throw random celebrites and make an original game based on them. Apparently basketball players were a popular choice for exploitation. Shaq Fu is a prime example that Shaquille O'Neal will do anything for money. Did the NBA not pay him enough millions of dollars? Was Kazaam not enough? The game tries to

Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball Review

I remember reading how this was a really bad SNES game, and when I saw it at Funcoland many years ago, I didn't even want to buy it for the 75 cents asking price. But hey, you always should try new things right? Even if they are downright terrible.By the way if you're wondering who Bill Laimbeer is don't bother looking. He was some NBA player back in the day, and later on became a famous coach in

Fact of the Day: X-Band

Back before Xbox Live or PSN gamers could play against each other through other methods. It even went as far back as the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo with devices such as the X-Band. For a monthly fee players could connect and play against each other using a dial-up connection. At the height of the service, they had 7000 subscribers.

Plok Review

Even though I had a lot of games as a kid, I've never heard of Plok until recently. So I went and found a copy to see if it was as good as the "Most Overlooked but Good SNES games" list I discovered said it was. When I first saw images of the game, my mind immediately jumped to the Kirby series. It seemed to be a very cute and colorful platformer. Unlike Kirby however, Plok (the character) is bit

Home Improvement (SNES) Review

I'm a big fan of the show, and when I heard they made a video game I kinda laughed at the idea of it. What video game could they make? A marriage simulator? A building/constructing game? Well at first it looks just like the show except Tim let his kids appear on set with him. Then the game's plot comes in with Tim apparently missing some crates and he goes on a quest to find them.Apparently

Tetris 2 (SNES) Review

The success of the original Tetris prompted the creation of a lot of clones, sequels, and spin-offs. Despite all of those, this was the "real" sequel to Tetris.  Unlike Tetris, 2 seems to have dropped all the Russian influence from the game. The setting appears to be more like a childhood room in a Japanese house. Unlike some other Tetris variants, this one plays differently enough from the
